In particular, injection molded products made from pulp (paper) have been gaining attention in recent years. Pulp is a renewable resource, and produces less CO2 than petroleum-derived resins, making it a promising material for reducing the burden on the natural environment. What are Injection molding products that can replace plastic?

Having built up a track record in fields that require high heat resistance and chemical resistance, the next step was to tackle the challenge of developing new materials that contribute to reducing environmental impact. 

What we would like to introduce today is an environmentally friendly Injection molding products has a texture that is almost like plastic, but is made from plant-based "paper." The definition of "paper" is a material made by intertwining and bonding plant fibers.

Because it is in pellet form, it can be made into complex shapes just like general plastic Injection molding products.

It has high dimensional accuracy and has shown excellent results in Charpy impact tests, making it a highly impact-resistant material.

・Environmentally friendly
It can be recycled as "paper" and can significantly reduce disposal costs compared to plastic.

Can be mixed with other resins for molding
It can be molded by combining it with other resins such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and biomass plastics. By adjusting the blending ratio, the texture and hardness can be freely changed. Furthermore, if 51% or more of pulp is blended with PE or PP, it is classified as "paper" by definition and can be treated as a "paper product."

Performance of pulp molded products

Pulp molded products have been confirmed to have adequate strength and flexibility, as well as sufficient rigidity and impact resistance in various tests based on JIS standards. Despite being "paper," they have mechanical characteristics comparable to plastics, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Comparison with other materials

Pulp molding has the advantage of being environmentally friendly compared to other materials and can be recycled as paper after use. Due to these characteristics, pulp molding is attracting attention as an environmentally friendly alternative material.
